4 stars (NICE AND AFFORDABLE TOOL FOR HOBBYISTS) - For the non-professional artist and/or film-maker, this is as good as image-making gets. The combination of Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Premiere Elements 2.0 let you take your hobby to the very top without breaking the bank. Despite running much slower than the 3.0 edition, Photoshop Elements 4.0 has a number of new improvements going for it: particularly when it comes to enhancing and arranging images. Flexible range of manipulative features were included in this regard. Still, I was disappointed that Adobe decided to remove the useful file-browser feature, (which was present in the Photoshop Elements 3.0 edition). Also, Premiere Elements 2.0 is capable of handling any amateur video and audio assignment that you may want to assign to it, but be warned that it is memory-hungry. Running this video-editing application on any computer with less than 512MB of RAM may end-up testing your patience to the fullest. Unless your patience compares to that of the biblical Job, do consider it wise to upgrade your RAM (if it is less than 512MB). In terms of processor, any Pentium 4 (or its corresponding equivalent) will deliver a decent performance. The same applies to dual Pentium III equivalents. A single Pentium III processor (or its equivalent) is not the best option here! Finally, another good thing about this software bundle is that they support a wide range of digital photo cameras and video cameras. The learning curve for both Applications is not that steep. Adobe Premiere Elements 2 0 Video Editing DVD

5 stars (This product is a must-buy offer for video editing) - I've used this product for video editing of my recent errand to Nanital. I gave stunning results and I was amazed with its ease of usability. It also includes a very comprehensive help. In summary it is another accomplishment for ADOBE. 4 stars (Premiere Elements 2.0 is a Qualified Success!) - Premiere Elements 2.0 is pretty good and easy to use. While Pinnacle Studio 9 is a bit easier to use, Premiere 2.0 does seem much more reliable that Studio. The good is that you can output both Windows and Mac in addition to DVD format video, whereas with the Apple packages, such as iMovie or even Final Cut Express you're limited to Quicktime and non-Windows formats. Editing was relatively easy, yet still has a small learning curve; the should scale the items on the screen a bit better but if you have good eyes (and I don't!) you can find just about everything at your finger tips. About the only complaint I have is that the output quality is not as good as Final Cut Express. For some reason the resulting DVD image I created was less resolution than the original/source video which was a VOB file of an old 8mm Wedding film. Not sure why that happened but it did. Also the helptext gets an average rating from me. While some information is right there, easy to get at, other stuff isn't in the help or is worded a bit too obscure. Titling is about the only thing that Pinnacle does better. Premiere's is okay, but many of the checkboxes seem to work backwards. For example the "Start off Screen" for a rolling title caused the title to start on screen and roll off screen, whereas Start On Screen had the opposite affect. So trial and error comes into play. All in all, if you're a Windows User, I would recommend it, if you're a Mac user (I use both) I would use iMovie which normally comes with your Mac or iLife package. 5 stars (Good to buy as single, best with Photoshop Elements combination) - Thanks to Adobe for giving ...

5 stars (Great Study Book) - This book was very helpful to use for preparing for the General GRE Exam. I thought they covered each section of the text very well and explained how to do well in each part of the exam. The practice tests were a great study tool as well. 3 stars (Warning to Mac Users) - If you use a Mac, AVOID this book. The reason I state this is that you won't find out until you've opened the envelope containing the CD that it works on Windows only. They do not have a Mac CD to send you -- you are up a creek. As for the rest of the book -- it's standard test-taking skills. If you need that, it's fine. 5 stars (The best resource) - I only had a few weeks to study for the GRE and the Premier program, 2006 edition, was the best resource. It helped in all three catergories and gave useful examples. The accompanying CD was also a great tool. It gave great practice tests that helped me prepare for the actual test. GMAT 2006- Premier Program Kaplan Gmat Book - CD-Rom

3 stars (Good practice problems, bad presentation) - I preferred 'Cracking the GMAT', which I read first. I ended up using this book primarily for the practice problems. My big complaint with this book was that in the answers to the practice questions, the problem isn't included. To see the original question, you have to flip to the quiz, then back to the answers...this style makes it difficult to see where you went wrong. Note that the CD version only works on Windows, and you won't see this information printed anywhere obvious. 3 stars (Some parts good, some less so.) - The good: The book itself has some fairly good explanations of things and useful tricks. The practice questions are nice to have, especially the data sufficiency questions which are so unlike anything the average college student has previously encountered. The mediocre: Much of the explanation is *too* much, I think, for a book that's supposed to be geared at people who either have graduated or will be shortly graduating from college, but I may be nitpicking with that. What I definitely find irritating is that the book seems to have been poorly proofread; I caught one reference to 'going back to a question later' or something similar which must have been from a version predating the CAT! The bad: The internet portion offered works very poorly and doesn't give you much that the book and CD don't, though they certainly hype it enough. And the practice questions are generally of easy-to-moderate difficulty, even though it's an adaptive test, probably to get high-level test takers to purchase their separate GMAT 800 book. The gist: If you just want to survive it, this'll probably do you fine. If you're expecting to expand on your preparation with other books, question sets, or prep programs, this seems like a good place to start. 5 stars (No problems with the install or the registration/activation) - Today,I upgraded from Systemworks 2003 Professional Edition to the Systemworks 2005 Premier on a PC with Windows XP Home Edition. It took approximately 30 minutes to load and register and everything went smoothly. Before starting, I read every review written here at Amazon so I'm well aware that my experience is not typical. I am offering the following suggestions in hopes that it may help someone who still has not been able to get it loaded or is about to try loading it for the first time. 1. First, to install this product on a XP machine, Norton says your processor should be a minimum of 300mhz (they neglect to tell you this on the outside of the box when they list the Minimum Systen Requirements) 2. Your Internet Explorer should be updated to version 6 3. If you have an earlier version of Systemworks (from 2003 and up) on your PC, don't uninstall it - if your version is earlier than 2003, you Must uninstall it before loading the new one. 4. Close all other Window programs - including those running in the System Tray. 5. Put in the Norton CD and click on "Install Norton SystemWorks" when the first panel comes up. 6. You'll be asked to accept the License Agreement" and then to enter your Product Key (it's long - 24 characters - and it appears on the back of your CD sleeve). 7. You're advised next to do a virus scan - so just click the "Start Scan" 8. It then asks you to select an Installation Type - the most trouble free choice here is the default - "Install Now". 9. Next, the software picks a folder where it wants to install the program...but, it gives you the ability to click "Browse" and change to another folder location. Again, the most trouble free choice here is the default. 10.It will then suggest that you Restart windows....then you are Done with the install (you still must register and activate). 11. At this point, after the Windows restart, I did get a couple of error me...

5 stars (Quicken Premier H&B 2006) - I have updated from Quicken Premier 2005. I am very please with the resoults, if I had known what was in this program I would have updated earlier. Quicken Premier H&B has many new ideas. 1 stars (Not very useful for business.) - I purchased this version for my home business. I needed to print invoices and track inventory. Also I liked the check printing feature. They failed to mention that you will need to order "Special" checks from them. The invoicing feature is very lacking in features and customability. You can't add shipping charges without making it a "Product". It did mention if you want ALL of the custom features, you need to order their Top Of The Line Quicken business program. Half of the toolbar seems dedicated to advertising products that you will need to make the program work the way you wanted it to work in the first place. If you are looking to buy this product, look on eBay, that's where my version will be tonight. 1 stars (Warning: Lack of QIF Support should be Known) - with the lack of .QIF support, this version of Quicken is a shell of the prior versions. Quicken Premier 2006 Personal Finance Software

5 stars (Definitely worth the upgrade) - Just installed Quicken Premier 2006 last night, and so far I can say it was definitely worth the upgrade. I think Intuit did an excellent job of streamlining the reporting functions. Just much easier to navigate and figure out what data you want to view. The feature within the register of viewing payment summaries of different merchants and categories is also very nice. As I have not yet set up my investments (a project for this weekend) I cannot accurately comment on this portion of the program. In summary, the overall functionality of the program is pretty much the same, so if you like your existing setup in Quicken then perhaps you don't need to upgrade. But for me personally I've always thought the interface in previous versions of Quicken was a little busy, and so this upgrade to what I consider to be a much cleaner, more streamlined interface was worth it for me. And by the way, I was able to find a full version of this product (CD only, no box or manual) online for $23... which was a bargain too good to pass up. 1 stars (Not for investors) - I finally decided it was time to upgrade from Quicken '99 (which I really liked) so that I could download stock quotes from the internet. Guess what - Quicken 2006 won't download preferred stock quotes, options quotes, or the pink sheet symbols for Canadian stocks! Quicken.com has all those types of quotes available, but they won't download into the program, making it largely useless for me. The only work-around is to create a Yahoo portfolio, download it as a csv file, then import it into Quicken. And even then, there is no "browse" to find the file. You have to manually type in the path EVERY DAY! Downloading accounts from financial institutions is a great feature with one exception: The first time you log on to, say, your credit card account, the program may download hundreds or even thousands of transactions. 5 stars (Great Program/Great Learning Curve) - I have a contracting business building new residential houses and I am not an accountant by anymeans. This program is really geared to the contractor that has alot of customers, as a home builder I only have 1 customer, the person that buys my house, and I don't invoice anybody, I'm the one always getting invoiced, so for this program to work for me, I had to fool it in a few places. My house's have become my customers in the eyes of the program. I bought this program last March (2005). This program has a large learning curve. The book that comes with the program is marginally helpful, the Quicken BB was more helpful. Early after I got the program I devoted one entire weekend to learn it and by Sunday nite I had a good grasp of the program. It was frustrating but well worth while. Now that I know this program it is fantastic. This program allows you to do many things, it cuts the data almost any way you want to look at it. It's one good program. It's not cheap, but well worth the money. 5 stars (Very Detailed) - This is the most detail oriented program there is available! Just make sure to get some kind of tutoring with it. 1 stars (Quickbooks should be Re-named Quick-Scams) - The company is a huge scam operation. Here's how they did it to me: they charge you $400 for their Professional Sevices version. What they don't tell you on the packaging, is that if you have any problem whatsover with their product, even if it is a glitch in their system, they will charge you $50 just to call them and ask for it. So the first time I called to find out why their invoice feature was broken, printing a total line on pages where you hadn't reached the total yet, and printing the first pages "Invoice" title repeatedly on subsequent pages where it looked weird, they would not even talk to me unless I paid $50 or bought a more expensive 90-day plan from them. And not only do they hide it from their packaging, if you go on the website they claim that they will talk to you if it is a problem with their product, but when you call you find out that was a lie because they refuse to talk unless you pony up. Shame on them. Buy a different product. If others have similar experiences, let's share them and maybe we can do something. 5 stars (Great Product) - I've had this product for a few weeks and I use it everyday. The main reason I bought it was for the timing feature. In my business, I need to bill by time, and my Quickbooks 2002 always crashed when I used the timing feature. I was hesitant to try Quickbooks again, but with a money-back guarantee from the company decided to give this version a try. I find this product to be great. It hasn't crashed on me once, and is much easier to move around from the single timing feature, to weekly time sheets, to preparing invoices. I haven't attempted to do an invoice in Word yet.
