Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

1 stars (unlike any pc game) - this review is for pc version basically the game lacked any customization. but my biggest problem with this game is its camera system. You don't have free third person camera. The game is only top view similiar to RTS games. There are a lot of things missing in this game 1- camera is not what used to be ( previous harry potter games had mouse/camera free movement). 2- no mouse support 3- no video settings 4- no audio settings 5- no key reassignment. ...

PS2 Harry Potter- Goblet of Fire

5 stars (THE MOST WONDERFUL GAME EVER) - If my typing is a little lagging, please forgive me, I was up all night playing "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Without doubt, the best game I have ever played. The graphics were so good that it was almost like being at Hogwarts. The snap-scene from the sixth book (where you get to be Snape killing Dumbledore) is the best moment of any game I've ever played, though Dumbledore is my favorite character. I was a little dissappointed that the plot of the seventh book was revealed by entrance to a hidden passage (near the portrait of the Buddhist-looking nuns on the fifth floor). It was the best thirty-second birthday present ever. I go to school in a small town in New York and all my first period studyhall teacher talked about the whole period was how good the game was and that's all everyone else has been talking about since. We're a little obsessed (this is coming from a person who has Harry Potter tattooed across his back). THE BEST GAME EVER. Buy it. Period. ...

Rachael Ray-s 30-Minute Get Real Meals - Eat Healthy Without Going to Extremes

5 stars (Love It, Love It, Love It!!!!!) - This cookbook, is in my opinion Rachel Ray's best one yet. It's creative, original and very tasty. Never boring. It suits all my cooking/diet phases from low cal to low carb and everything in between. The best part about her recipes is that they are easy to tweak if you should come across an ingredient that you don't much care for without losing the flavor of the dish. I love the stuffed tomatoes! I bought this book as a birthday gift for my sister and almost couldn't give it to her, I did, and I went back to the store the next day and bought it for myself. Some opinions are just evil and nasty. Some can't tolerate watching Rachel's show and that's okay, the show is probably geared towards viewers who don't have a stick up their ... anyway. Great book and even greater gift! My sister loved it too! 5 stars (Rachel Rays cook book) - It arrived on time & in great condition. Great product, very pleased. 1 stars (At least you don't have to listen to her) - Sounds like of a "Catty" title, but I'm sorry. Some of her recepies are good, but no real nutritional values are listed, especially for being touted healthy and fast meals. I'm sure Ms. Ray has a devoted following, but after trying to watch her shows on Food Network, I find it better to read a recepie, than trying to listen to her. With her gravelly-rough cigarette voice, I find it hard to concentrate on her talking. On television she comes accross as White Trash, Redneck cooking. Does she have any cooking school behind her, or is her entire repetoire' just throw this together and your friends will find it "cool". Anyhow if you like Mizz Ray you will probably like this book, and spare your ears at the same time. Me I actually prefer, Giada De Laurentiis, and Sandra Lee. Both these ladies are classy, award winning chefs, and have actual nutritional value to their recepies. ...

Odd Ball Knitting - Creative Ideas for Leftover Yarn

3 stars (Not totally unique -- but still helpful for the stash-stumped) - For knitters looking to clear the stash out from under the bed (to make room for-let's be honest here-more yarn), Barbara Albright has written Odd Ball Knitting. In this book, Albright provides a plethora of tips and patterns for knitters looking to do a little stash-busting. From small patterns that use just a little bit of yarn (like finger puppets or scarves or sachets) to larger projects that use different kinds of yarn to create one unique piece (like a colorful striped poncho or shawl), Albright provides plenty of solutions for stashes of every size and color palette. While many of the projects are pretty standard-projects that you can find on the pages other knitting books and magazines-Albright does something that no one else has done. She puts them together in one stash-focused book to aid the stash-stumped. She also throws in tips for storing yarn, stash-busting, and even for figuring out just how much yarn is left on a partially-used ball. The chart provided in the back of the book also allows you to choose projects based on what you've got stored behind your sofa. If your home is under siege by yarn balls of various colors and sizes and you don't feel like flipping through your collection of books and magazines to search for just the right pattern, Odd Ball Knitting will get you started on the road to stash-free living. Or at least it'll help you clear up some room for the next clearance sale at your local yarn shop. 1 stars (Waste of Money) - I was hoping to see some new and creative ways to use leftover yarn. This book does not deliver. 3 stars (Eh) - Most of these patterns can be found for free someplace on the internet. I did not find anything here that was overly creative or that really said, "Oh yea.... I could do THAT!" This would probably be something for a new knitter. ...

Ceramics- A Potter-s Handbook

5 stars (A great book for beginners as well as seasoned ceramicists) - A wealth of knowledge can be found in this timeless book that covers all the major aspects of ceramics. For the novice, it covers the the world's history of ceramics. Discusses clay and glaze compositions and gives step by step explanations of the various techniques from wheel throwing to hand building to making plaster molds for slip casting. For the advanced ceramist, there is good information of various kilns and their construction. It offers analysis of several major clays, frits, and feldspars as well as other useful reference tables including some recipes for glazes from low fire to high fire. I first bought the book in '82 as a college freshman and it has proven a valuable aid ever since. It is on the top of my "required reading" list for anyone interested in getting involved with studio ceramics. ...

500 Cups - Ceramic Explorations of Utility - Grace A Lark Ceramics Book

5 stars (inspirational) - This book is as fantastic as 500 teapots! It is full of inspiration! I love it and highly recommend it, buy it now, don't wait another second! 5 stars (Great Reference) - Like so many of the Lark books, this one is filled with, you guessed it, 500 photos. Nicely dnone I might add (I am a commercial photographer who dabbles in ceramics to keep myself sane...ish). Now I must admit that I didn't actually count the photo's to see if there are exactly 500, but I'll bet the editor did. This book isn't a technique book, but a beautiful reference of about any imaginable ceramic cup, functional and not (some are full of holes and would hold nothing but cotton), traditional, contemporary, Japanese style, hand built, thrown, altered and, well, just about everything I have personally ever been exposed to or even heard about. I love this book. I find great inspiration as I turn each page. If you are looking for references, inspiration, or just some great ceramic works, I highly recommend this book. While you are at it, check out the one on bowls. It's great as well. ...

The World of Harry Potter

4 stars (Must Have) - For Harry Potter Fans a complete pack of the games to date...i loved playing them and can't wait for HP4 game to arrive 5 stars (Awesome entertainment value, great for kids and adults who play along with them) - My 7 year old daughter and I have been searching for a good computer game to play ever since we finished up 101 Dalmations on the PC more than a year ago. I've read her the first three Harry Potter books, and then discovered this collection. It is a big winner. You get four different games (which each originally sold for the cost of this collection, or more). We finished the Sorcerers Stone in about two weeks of evening play. It has plenty of play value to get us to go back, mainly to find the hidden secrets we did not find the first time, and to play some better games of Quiddich. We have just begun playing the Chamber of Secrets. Everything about this one is an upgrade from Sorcerer's Stone: smoother play, more spells, more hidden areas, new activities, new features. We are enjoying it immensely. Some kids are game fanatics, and can handle the controls alone. Another reviewer was correct, a game controller makes these much easier. My daughter and I share the controls when we play together. In these games, she takes the mouse to cast spells and direct Harry's point of view, I work the arrow keys to move us around. We have quite a lot of fun together this way. The games feature the same story line and content as the books. Expect the same (very low) violence level as the books. So I'm giving this bundle 5 stars based on just games. Heck, I would have given it 4 stars for the Sorcerer's Stone alone, or 5 stars for the Chamber of Secrets alone. This is a super value. 4 stars (Great for ages 12 and below) - Some interesting puzzles and basically user friendly. My grand kids and I play it alot. ...

Barefoot Contessa Family Style- Easy Ideas and Recipes That Make Everyone Feel Like Family

5 stars (Some of Ina's Best Work) - This publication includes some of the best Barefoot recipes. Lots of wonderful images(but not TOO many)that are very colorful and well presented. I am very pleased with this purchase. 5 stars (Like having Mom in the kitchen with you) - Great recipes and advice on every page...I especially appreciated the "10 items you need in your kitchen". She also offers brand names to use when she feels it will make a difference in the outcome of the recipe. 5 stars (AMAZING!!) - Love, Love, Love this book. Have tried various recipes and all have come out amazingly. So simple with a great result. All my friends think that I am a seasoned chef. Ina is my hero! ...

The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook

5 stars (I found another elegant cookbook that makes the best wedding present!) - I am an avid, but amateur chef and am getting married in Fall 05. I've been given a bunch of cookbooks. My favorite show on Food TV is the Barefoot Contessa . . . but my favorite cookbook so far, hands down, is called NOT ON LOVE ALONE by Jessie Carry Saunders. It has a friendly, intimate tone, and it feels like something written by a young woman for other young couples. Just like Ina Garten, the recipes are elegant and delicious without ever feeling fussy. It has a friendly, appealing feel, like the author is in the kitchen with you, telling you stories about the recipes as she teaches you how to make them. Also, it's a super-high quality book -- it's a hard cover, the pages are nice and thick, and the watercolor illustrations on every page make the book seem like something you could display on your coffee table as easily as you could use it in the kitchen. Like I said, I love the Barefoot Contessa, but if you want a similar style cookbook by a pretty young chef, my recommendation is NOT ON LOVE ALONE. Trust me, you will be so happy with it! 4 stars (Definitely Worth Getting) - If you love Ina's Barefoot Contessa show on Food Network you will absolutely love this cookbook. The recipes are not intimidating, rather they are concise, elegant and delicious. Definitely want to get the rest of her books. Hope this review was helpful. 5 stars (Delicious recipes, great pictures, sensible ideas) - What a great combination of tips for entertaining, great recipes, and beautiful photos that help you visualize your results! I bought this book because of its approach of doing 95% of the food prep ahead of time so the host is free to spend time with the guests. I was planning a finger-food party and didn't want to spend the whole time in the kitchen. I tried many of the recipes along with some of my stand-bys. The food turned out great, and thanks to Ina's tips about how to arrange platte...

MaryJane-s Ideabook- Cookbook- Lifebook - For the Farmgirl in All of Us

4 stars (Journeying With MaryJane) - This is more than a book, which is why the title is composed of Idea,Cook and Life. It's hefty, filled with evocative, inspiring photographs, good recipes, and the encouraging story of MaryJane Butters' journey to her life today in Idaho. Along the way: working as a park ranger, farming organically, surviving as a single Mom, and establishing today's business. I had ordered this book as a 55th birthday gift for a friend, but will need to order another copy for her (this one is now "used": coffee rings and recipe notes...try hers for watermelon salsa.) And even though it's big, you CAN read it in bed! 5 stars (Incredible!!!!!!!!!) - This is not only a great resource...but it is inspiring...beautifully illustrated...took me on a journey of what is really important in life..to simplify...experience and create. 5 stars (Great book!) - I love this book! Just reading it makes me feel like I've taken a trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Beautiful photos, interesting information, and some great recipes to boot. This is less of a cookbook though - so if you're looking strictly for recipes more than anything else, this may not be the book for you. It is a great coffee table book and one that I will enjoy reading again. ...

Tile Your World- John Bridge-s New Tile Setting Book

5 stars (Excellent resource, great confidence builder) - This book is more than just a how-to book. Between this book and the author's web-site full of friendly people and helpful advice, the average DIYer will find the knowledge and confidence to tackle nearly any tile project. If funds aren't an issue or you are a book junkie like me, I'd recommend you own this book and "Setting Tile" by Michael Byrne as both books cover different subjects to different depths, but if you only buy one book, "Tile Your World" by John Bridge is the one to own. 5 stars (Wonderful resource that keeps on giving) - As a dedicated DIYer with no tiling experience, I needed a book that would provide a good overview as well as the details to actually get the job done. This book presents the necessary information in a manner that benefits novices and pros alike. I was able to read the book cover to cover without losing interest. I then dug back into the book to re-read material to gain a more thorough understanding. When I've not been able to figure something out, I've posted questions directly to an active web-based forum hosted by the author (great resource and the book makes a pointer to it--that's the "keeps on giving" reference in the review title and it was worth the price of the book alone!). The only ding I'd give the book is that a good portion of the images are printed too small. As a newbie, I'd appreciated larger images throughout and would have been glad to pay a little more for it. 4 stars (Good Information from a Pro) - This book is a good resource for tile setting. Worth getting. Don't let the second class publishing format and unprofessional way of writing put you off, this isn't an essay on political science. It is obviously written by someone with many years of field experience. ...

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

4 stars (Not as fun as the others.) - Good: The character designs & textures were much better...& there were no glitches! Finally! The reward count is far more generous, & it's got Weasley Twins big time!As usual, the voices matched the movies vey well. Harry looks pretty bishie, but that's the deepest voice I've ever heard from a 13 year old. If you love video games & suck at them so bad that even a 5 year old can beat you, you will just barely manage to pass this game not cheating & only minor stress. (the Dementor part is a real pain in the fingers.) Bad: The castle looked TOO different & was much smaller. No debug cheat to explore with....no cheats at ALL actually, not that the scheduling system the game runs on doesn't allow much for exploring. Too many locked door that never get unlocked, no Potions Class, no Hogsmede, No Snape >.< The main characters hair colors are incorect. If you're very good at games, this game will be a cakewalk & barely challenging. The feeling you get watching Ron accidently jump to his death durring a challenge is more impressive than the design for the dementors. Overall, it's a piece of good fandom, a little eye candy, & something to hold you off untill you buy another PC game, you packrat gamer you ^_~ 5 stars (A kid's review) - My 9 year old wants to let any compadres know that: Compared to this game other games are like smelly feet. The reason I like it is because you can see where you're going, it rarely goes out of control, and it's fun, fun, fun!!!!!! I think it's beautiful and glorious. If I had a choice between this game and my brother I would choose this game. The reason I like it is because the levels are great, the pictures are good, and there's this one level where you have to do this mirror thing where you connect the mirrors to a crystal ball. So buy this game and if you don't you're just sick. 5 stars (Third time's the charm! POA great-) - After purchasing the other 2 Harry Potter games for PC I find the 3r...

Harry Potter- Quidditch World Cup

2 stars (I demand a remake!) - Quiddich, though only imaginative, is an incredible sport in concept. I was practically compelled to buy the game because of visions I had of the possibilities there, even though the reviews were lackluster. Well, turns out people were right. The passing and shooting is oversimplified, the 3D element is completely absent, and its a little too easy to steal the quaffle (i.e. the ball.) The bludgers and beaters (bat-weilding players hitting heavy balls at enemy players) were handled fairly well. The vying for special moves by accomplishing certain goals in a match is a nice touch, but another reviewer hit a chord when they compared their vision of a Quiddich video game with Madden Football. Let players compete at Hogwarts, Club (Professional), or World Cup difficulty, and let them handle the recruiting and management of a team (or even let players you had at Hogwarts play on your pro club when you move to the next level.) Let the flying be more 3 dimensional, with the chance to play as any position all the time instead of just chasers, and you could have a game that redefines sports gaming. Right now, its just a cheap shot by E.A. Games at all us Quiddich dreamers out there. $10? Yeah, its worth about that much. 2 stars (For the wee ones) - I agree with most of the other reviewers here: This game was clearly designed for younger kids, with the fun, eye-candy set high and any possible frustration kept to a minimum. It's clear that EA Games just adapted a soccer-game engine, trying to minimize the three-dimensional nature of Quidditch. That, combined with the utterly predictable AI system, makes it possible for an adult player to WIPE THE FLOOR with any and all comers. It's aggravating, really: It's not likely that there will be another version of this game made for adults with, say, an AI system worthy of the name. And EA games could have so easily created a workable 3D flying system--just use the usual WASD/three-button mouse ...

XB Harry Potter- Goblet of Fire

4 stars (Goblet of Fire for XBox) - With stunning graphics and creative challenges and environments, Goblet of Fire captures attention right from the start. Taking advantage of the multiplayer format, you can play with up to two of your friends. So much more than experiencing the excitement of the game together, EA has made a truly cooperative experience, with the ability to combine your magics for new and more interesting effects! Some excellent AI keeps a single-player from losing the rest of the trio, without having to mind them at every turn (though they do the occasional annoying or harmful thing). A change in format from the previous games, almost all "levels" (such as Hogwart's grounds, or one of the Triwizard tasks) are accessable from the main screen (a Pensive), to which you return after every sucessful venture. While, in my opinion, this takes away from the Role-Playing aspect of the game, it enhances gameplay in other ways. One can, just as easily, play through the game quickly as spend hours upon hours discovering every little nuance. In this, as in many other similar things, EA did an excellent job of recognizing their teen and young adult (and not-so-young adult) audience, and trying to balance that with the expectation that Harry Potter is for children. That said, however, there are a few things I dislike about the game. The "camera angle" in many parts of the game is annoying, if not downright frustrating. As I mentioned previously, the "feel" of the game is a lot farther from Role-Playing that what I've come to expect from the Harry Potter series (you can't endlessly play in Hogwart's castle, as you could before). While involving less fuss than before, I disliked the "intuitive" spell-casting (the spell used is determined by what you're casting at), and the less-clearly defined meaning of how to cast a spell "perfectly" (which gains the player rewards). I'd also like to register my complaint that none of our young wizards-and-witches-in...
