5 stars (angles and demons) - The story talks about Brilliant physicist Leonardo Vetra, who was attempting to use science to prove the existence of God, has been murdered; his eyes plucked out and the society's ancient symbol branded upon his chest. His final discovery, anti-matter, the most powerful and dangerous energy source known to man, has disappeared. Langdon and Vittoria, Vetra's daughter, embark on a frantic hunt through Rome, following a 400-year-old trail to the lair of the Illuminati, to prevent the incineration of civilization. Dan Brown is quite a talent man. This novel is very interesting and exciting. There is a mystery and suspense. It shows comparison between religion and science, as to the relationship between the two supposedly opposing positions. The Illuminati and antimatter are amazing. I strongly believe that you might fall in love with this novel and refuse to stop reading it. Finally, I am looking forward to reading next novel. 5 stars (the Angels have it) - Like millions of people I read THE DA VINCI CODE and loved it so thought I would try ANGELS AND DEMONS. It's a book about secret brotherhoods, religion and dark assassins. Once again the central character is Robert Langdon. It's a brilliant read. ALSO if you like religious thrillers, I highly recommend STEALING FROM ANGELS by Brian Dullaghan. I would say these are my best two books for 2005. 5 stars (Incredible Read!) - This, along with The da Vinci Code, is one of my new favorite books. It follows Robert Langdon on the trail of a killer and a madman threatening to use a deadly weapon to blow up Vatican City. Dan Brown is an amazing suspense/thriller/mystery author and I'm looking forward to The Solomon Key. While I'm not sure when that'll be coming out, I'm looking forward to the da Vinci Code movie (starring Tom Hanks) and I'm planning on reading more of Brown's books. This book is highly recommended. The Pilgrim-s Progress in Modern English Pure Gold Classics

3 stars (Pilgrims Progress is a Classic) - You can't go wrong with Pilgrims Progress, but this version leaves a little to be desired. The text is printed in a tiny font, numerous biblical references are added - which I don't recall from my first reading of PP years ago. That this version is called "Modern English" is a bit of a stretch - may have been modern a hundred years ago. 5 stars (Extremely well written.) - Usually when someone attempts to re-invent the wheel it results in confusion and an ineffective product, never coming close to the original concept. That is not the case with Pilgrim's Progress in Modern English. The same devotion and effort it took to compose the original is evident in this masterful reproduction, NOTHING is lost in the translation. 5 stars (The Best-known Allegory of Every Christian's Life Journey) - The Pilgrim's Progress is one of my favorite books and was originally written by a 17th century Puritan, John Bunyan, from his cell prison in a trying time of persecution. Rich in solid Biblical theology, it is the best-known and well-loved allegory of every Christian's life journey. It tells the story of a pilgrim named Christian as he walked a journey from the City of Destruction (where he lived before his conversion) to the Celestial City (an allegory of heaven), sharing with us the many challenges and obstacles he faced along the way. However, it also shares of the wonderful, joyful experiences and comfort Christian encountered in his long treacherous journey. As a believer, reading this book reminded me that I, too, am walking in a similar spiritual journey as Christian did. There are so many experiences Christian faced that I can relate with. 5 stars (Great relaxation CD!) - I purchased this CD for my kids (ages 9 & 6)about a year ago. They love it and so do I. At first they were both a little giggly at it but then after a night or two they were asking for it and it began to be part of our nightime ritual. I love it as well and have found it to be very relaxing myself. I have some of my own relaxation CD's that I listen to and this CD uses the same methods for relaxation but in a kid friendly way! It's just great. I'm looking for another one for some variety. 5 stars (Indigo Dreams) - This is a great relaxation CD. I purchased it for my 9 year old son, who is having problems with night terrors and anxiety in general. Since we have started listening to it to go to sleep, the night terrors have significantly decreased and he seems more relaxed overall. I highly recommend this CD -- it is a great way to teach children how to relax. 5 stars (Great for the entire family!) - I recently ordered this CD for my 4 yr old daughter. The first night we listened to it together, and she enjoyed it very much. Even I managed to follow the stories and relax right along with her. It helped her fall to sleep and have a restful night. 5 stars (Great Method) - I am enjoying both the book and the 8 CDs found in this course. Very effective method! Really gets you speaking Spanish quickly and without the hassle. Book is great too. Easy to read, follows the CDs and has a word for word tapescript at the back. Biggest Plus: Easy and Fast 4 stars (Conversational Spanish In Nothing Flat (Frobose)) - Easy to use -- have found a couple of errors in English-to-Spanish words, but no big deal. It is somewhat difficult to use the book in conjunction w/ the recording, because the book has no real format. Took me a while to realize the "almost verbatim" words on the tape are where an index usually is. Otherwise -- pretty decent method of learning to converse! 5 stars (My Personal Experience with Conversational Spanish in Nothing Flat) - In my opinion, no "single" language tool (a book for example) will make you completely proficient in a particular language. The key is to sellect various well crafted tools with different approaches. This gives you a more well-rounded view of your subject. Conversational Spanish in Nothing Flat will not by itself make you fluent but it adds "an important piece" to your developing knowledge and it does this very well by touching all bases and giving you lots of fun quizzes where new things are introduced and earlier lessons are reinforced again again. ...

1 stars (DON'T BUY THIS BOOK!!!!) - My name is Sarah and I attend Ridgeway High School located in Memphis, Tn. I am in the 11th garde. I'm taking Alebra II right now, but I remember dealing with that book. It is not a good book. They have pages put in the wrong places. They will tell you to do a problem and you wouldn't know a thing about it, then at the end of the chapter, it will show you everythign about it. I encourage you not to buy this book. I would not waiste my money!!! 1 stars (High School Math Teacher) - I must agree with the other reviews: this book stinks. It is not organized in a logical order. For instance, in section 1-1 students are expected to translate verbal expressions into algebraic ones. To do this, a student needs to understand order of operations, which isn't introduced until a later chapter. If you are a teacher picking an Algebra 1 book for your students, don't pick this book. 1 stars (Crap) - My school buys this book obviously because it's cheap or something. Nobody gets this. The writers are too busy trying to sound intelligent and make themselves look good that they leave everyone behind. It's just crap. 5 stars (The greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino) - The Greatest Salesman in the World is an uplifting, motivating and inspiring book on sales and salesmanship. The author presents principles of good salesmanship in the form of a fascinating story which make it easy and interesting to remember the important principles. He does this through simple and direct parables which are woven into a profound story, with clever plot twists to explain the 10 principles for successful salesmanship as well as success in life. I loved to read the book because it is small and can be read and finished in a couple of hours and yet leave one with a deep impression. The book is recommended for beginners and veterans in the profession of selling. 1 stars (The only great salesman is the author) - An old rich merchant from the Bible times tries to pass on his secret to success. That "secret" is written in 10 ancient strolls who were given to him by another rich merchant before he died. These tips to accumulate wealth are nothing but cheap self-improvement-new-age advice that have nothing to do with business. For example, in the stroll marked 1, you can read: "Today I will savor the taste of grapes from these vines and verily I will swallow the seed of success buried in each and new life will sprout within me". The stroll marked 2 starts with this sentence: "I will greet this day with love in my heart" and number 4 begins with "I am nature's greatest miracle". This is the kind of insights you may expect from any book but a one called "The greatest salesman in the world". And it is so short: only 111 pages of really big print. If you want to read these kind of books, but written by good authors, please refer to Paulo Coelho. 5 stars (A very Powerful Book!) - The Greatest Salesman in The World is a classic case of not judging the quality of a book by it's size. Writers Inc- A Student Handbook for Writing and Learning

4 stars (Helpful Handbook) - This book is helpful, especially for middle school aged children who are learning the proper techniques of writing. It is easy to use. 5 stars (Outstanding Resource: Simple, Organized, Invaluable!!) - It has been proven time and time again the necessity of well-spoken and well-written language. Industry professionals, chief executive officers, and medical students use a different language than rap musicians and drug dealers. Those with the few minutes required to easily reference this book while writing will far exceed the minimalist expectations of modern education and, no doubt, far exceed the annual income level of their post graduate classmates. Neither race nor economic class is as great a social divide as language abuse and misuse. Not only has this book remained in print for quite some time, but it is one of the few books from high school I refuse to discard. Reading this book from cover to cover, although personally encouraged, is not absolutely necessary. Organized more akin to a dictionary, this guide is ridiculously simple to navigate within its many tips and tricks. Although I held a great jealously towards my senior-year, male English teacher who managed to steal the attention of the few young women in our class through the rhyme and reason of old poetry, he did our class a great justice through the forced purchase of this book. The difficult choices you make in life determine your overall success or failure; ask, what literature will survive the test of time: Shakespeare or your last AOL Instant Messenger conversation? 4 stars (essential guide) - I was introduced to this book in high school where we were required to have a copy and use it throughout all four years of English classes. The Great Divorce

3 stars ( The Great Divorce ) - As C.S. Lewis' books go I think that this is not his best book by far. I would recommend reading some of his other works before this because if I had not of known of his amazing writing I would have forever considered him a terrible writer after reading this book. 5 stars (Truly Inspired!) - In this brilliant work of fiction, C.S. Lewis brings amazing clarity and light to universal truths that we can all identify with, but few of us ever fully grasp. I have gained a whole new perspective on a question that has, thus far, plagued my Christian walk: "Why is it that something that is so clear and painfully obvious to a Christian, is so extremely difficult to convince to an unbeliever?". As plainly as Truth stares us in the face, it's difficult to comprehend why others so easilly overlook it, while vituperating us "brain-washed" Christians. After reading this book, I am finally beginning to better understand the paradox. The truth is that, on some level, everyone sees the Truth. Many are just unwilling to let go of what they have come to embrace in this world. The meaning they have been able to build for themselves, and control on their terms, has become more presious to them than the Truth, and more desirable than true Joy. If their chosen lives were taken away from them, they would be miserable with Truth. One line from the story sums it all up. It comes directly after the most oft quoted phrase from the book ("...Thy will be done."): "All that are in Hell, choose it. Without that self-choice there could be no Hell.". This is NOT to say that Evangelism should stop. By no means! We just need to learn when it's time to stop and move on to another. We can't make the choice for them. We are called to sow. My biggest issue is that the packaging is so bad that each time it was sent to me the cds had fallen out of their place in the container and got scratched up. 5 stars (UnMatched ! Head and Shoulders Above Other Spanish Audio Courses!) - I have checked out your Behind the Wheel course and the superiority and clarity was evident immediately. Very nicely organized and not littered with a bunch of grammatical terminology and categorization that bogs a learner down. Ishmael- An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit

3 stars (No doubt about it, we're screwed.) - What you should remember when reading this is that it is simply one way of looking at things, one opinion, one way of looking at humankind and where we're headed. After I finished reading this, I thought "no way, the Goddess will save us." And I sure as hell hope She does because this book points out what nobody wants to hear: we're doomed. So why not just kick back and enjoy life and leave the worries to the next generations? Because think about it. If you got inoperable cancer from a certain type of toothpaste, wouldn't you try to stop others from using said toothpaste so that they too wouldn't get inoperable cancer? That's why this book is important. 5 stars (Really Good) - Lots of people have summarized it so I wont waste my time. This book is fantastic and really good book for anyone. I think it should be required in school. If you dont like this book, you did not have an open mind and that is the only thing you can have when you read this book. I finished it a week ago, looked at it in wonderment, turned it over and read it again. The basis of the book is the response of a disgruntled, disillusioned gentleman to an ad in the personals section of the paper: "Teacher seeks pupil... Apply in person. Must have earnest desire to save the world." The story is simply the philisophical dialogue that follows between he and his teacher about "how things came to be this way" and what to do about...

3 stars (Its O.K.) - hey im an 8th grader in advanced classes. this book is okay cuz it has clean organization and stuff, and ive seen MUCH worse. lmao. it also has the *special* features like the study guides, extra help, and online resources. the really bad 1 i used in 7th grade, alg 1, by some otha company, was like 20 years old and uncolorful, stinkiyyy, boring, and unhelpful. lol i got a C. this book, however, isn't as bad, and also easyer to read. but its still math, one of my most unfavorite subjects!!! anyways, thank u 4 ur time and patience. 3 stars (not to good) - The book itself is bad enough. it teaches you as though it was teaching a mathmatician. i am a student, and the whole class has c's,d's,and f's. it does not give any other information that students would be confused about 3 stars (Pretty average, depends on your intentions) - In 9th grade, while taking Algebra 2 / Analysis, I used this book. Well, I didn't "use" it to learn the material. (Partly because I knew it all anyway, but that's besides the point.) The truth is that this book doesn't really teach you much as it's explanations are breif and I never really read them anyway. It's good it you want to do homework problems as it has many problems and even solutions in the back. Therefore, it really matters what you intend to use this textbook for. If it's just for homework and doing problems, it's good. If it's to teach an entire Algebra 2 course, it's not so good. ...

1 stars (Narcissism ne plus ultra) - This guy is so self referential that I kept reading mostly from complete astonishment. I bought this because I had five minutes and twenty choices in an airport; why do other people do it? It is self indulgent navel gazing drivel. Mary 3 stars (Not my Coelho's favourate) - The Zahir did not mesmarize me like Coelho's other books. It is not that it is a bad book, not at all, but I just found it to be below my expectation from a book by Paulo Coelho. 5 stars (A FABULOUS FABULIST COMPELLINGLY READ) - British stage, film and TV actor Jamie Glover gives a sterling performance, immediately intriguing listeners with a mesmerizing story of obsession. Told in the first person by a nameless narrator, Glover ably carries us along on a journey, a search not only for a loved one but also perhaps for meaning, answers to the riddle of life. The narrator is a successful author living in Paris with his wife, Esther, who is an accomplished journalist, a war correspondent. She has just returned from Iraq only to disappear again. It's not known whether she ran away or was kidnaped, whether she is alive or dead. She was last seen with a man younger than she, a man who hid his true identity but was known as Mikhail. Could he be her lover? According to author Coelho the idea of the zahir stems from the Islamic tradition, it means "incapable of going unnoticed. It can refer to an object or a person, and that object or person gradually takes over our every thought, until we are unable to think of anything else. This could be considered a state of holiness or a state of madness." We'll leave it to the listener to decide which description is most appropriate for our narrator as he undertakes a journey to find Esther.
